350 Bay Area, an all-volunteer, climate change education, organizing and action group, covering the SF Bay Area region, is searching for a fundraising consultant to help us develop a dynamic and effective fundraising plan that can help us build our role in the Bay Area/California climate action/climate justice movement.

  • Work with our fundraising committee to help us develop a diversified fundraising plan that can be implemented largely by volunteers (Steering Committee members, our 5 local 350 Group coordinating committee members, campaign team members and the fundraising committee)
  • Help us develop a strategic plan to embed diverse fundraising strategies into our ongoing efforts, using our website, email lists of supporters, large and small events, major donor engagement, and other activities that match our organization and structure.
    • Experience with using NationBuilder for fundraising preferred
  • Research fundraising possibilities with foundations and selected funding entities in the Bay Area
  • Optional: provide motivational and skill training for our steering committee and 5 local groups in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, East Bay, Marin and Sonoma County.
  • Possibility for on-going consulting as we launch our fundraising plan and activities.

About us: 350 Bay Area, formed in 2011, is one of the largest and most active regional groups in a network of local 350.org affiliated climate action groups in the US. We work closely with 350.org but are financially independent of them. We are incorporated as both a 501c3 (2014) and 501c4 (2012). We are active across a wide spectrum of climate action areas including education, a speakers bureau, and our campaigns (divestment, clean energy, fossil fuel resistance, and BayCap) and are involved in local and state climate action and policy change, as well as direct action and mobilization, to drastically reduce fossil fuel use and to influence and accelerate climate solutions. We work with a wide array of partners and coalitions and are committed to expanding our work with climate and social justice allies and communities. This will be out first fundraising plan.
