Directions, Parking and Public Transportation

The conference will take place at the  UC Berkeley Clark Kerr Conference Center, which is located at 2601 Warring Street, Berkeley, CA. It is not on the main UC Berkeley Campus. Please see the map here and directions here.

Air Transportation:

The Oakland Airport provides the most convenient access to Berkeley. Oakland is served by many carriers, notably Southwest (1-800-435-9792) which has inexpensive flights from cities throughout the American West to Oakland.

San Francisco Airport is served by more carriers. San Francisco airport is about 25 miles from the Clark Kerr campus; travel time can range from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

Taxi Fare from the Oakland Airport to lodging near the course venue runs about $50. Taxi fare from SFO to the course venue runs about $65.

The Bayporter Shuttle (1-510-864-4000) runs from both the Oakland Airport and the San Francisco Airport. Transportation for a single passenger from the San Francisco Airport to Berkeley costs $40. Transportation for a single passenger from the Oakland airport to Berkeley costs $35. Reservations are required.

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit):

Please note: the Clark Kerr campus of UC Berkeley is about 1.25 miles from any of the train stations. You can connect to local buses AC Transit that have stops near the campus.

Oakland Airport Shuttle: A shuttle connects the Oakland Airport to BART, which has trains serving downtown Berkeley at 20 minute intervals. The cost of the shuttle from the airport to the BART train is $2.50 per person; you will need exact change before boarding the shuttle. The cost for the BART train from the airport stop to Downtown Berkeley is approximately $2.00.

San Francisco Airport: BART connects directly to the San Francisco airport. The ride between SFO and Berkeley is approximately 45-60 minutes long, depending on schedule, and costs approximately $5. The closest stop to the training location is Downtown Berkeley.

Ground Transportation to the Clark Kerr Campus:

Arrival by Car: UC Berkeley's Clark Kerr campus can be reached via Highway 80, or alternatively by Highway 24.  Clark Kerr's address is 2601 Warring Street, Berkeley, CA. Please see the map here and directions here. Please go to www.mapquest.com for specific door-to-door directions.
 

BART/Bus: If you are using BART to get to the conference the easiest station with access to the Clark Kerr Campus is the Rockridge station and then transfer to an AC Transit bus, the Line 7 Arlington line . Just tell the driver that you would like to get off at the Clark Kerr Campus.

Parking: 

There is limited metered street parking and neighborhood parking around the Berkeley campus (often with two hour restrictions).  Parking is also available in University Parking lots.  Parking will cost $12.00 (subject to change) per day in a University Lot for a day permit that is purchased ahead of time. There are also dispensing machines in the lots from which individuals may purchase permits for $7.00 (subject to change) per vehicle per day.  Daily permits expire every morning at 9:00 am.  Therefore it is important that daily permits be purchased prior to 9:00 am to avoid citations.
